April 2012 marks 59 years of rich tradition and history for the City of Henderson. Commemorating the occasion will be the annual Heritage Parade and Festival in the Water Street District.

Festivities include live entertainment, international food booths, dance and cooking demonstrations, craft booths and parade!

Come out and celebrate Henderson’s heritage and vitality throughout the years. It’s fun for the whole family. Please see a list of scheduled activities below.

Art and Craft Vendor Application

Thank you for your interest in being an artist or craft vendor! Please click here to download the official application and return to Annette Mullins via the information provided. To complement the cultural theme of the event, we kindly request all items and demonstrations represent a specific world culture and/or ethnic group (e.g.,Ukrainian eggs, Chinese calligraphy, Mexican mariachi performers, etc.).

People's Choice Award

Support your school, community organization or business by casting your vote for your favorite parade entry! For a second year in a row, fans watching the Henderson Heritage Parade, live and at home, on Saturday, April 21 will be able to vote for their favorite entry to determine the 2012 People’s Choice Award winner.

Each parade entrant will be given a special text code to display on their float, banner, etc. In addition, the code will also be presented on the bottom of the television screen for viewers watching the live broadcast at home on Cox Channel 96. Both options will allow the community the chance to select their People’s Choice through the popularity of text message.

It's easy! Grab your cell phone and text HLIVE followed by the parade entry number to 269411.

Children's Parade of Nations Fashion Show

The International Food and FolkLife Festival Association invites parents to have their children participate in a special "Children's Parade of Nations" fashion show. If your child has traditional clothing or costumes of their ethnic background, such as the customary Japanese kimono, the Irish kilt or a Native American head dress and would like to participate, you can download the official application here. Admission is complimentary.
