Spanning the Arizona-Nevada state line, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead are located in the Colorado River’s rugged Black Canyon. The dam is 726.4 feet from its foundation rock to the roadway on the crest of the dam. Towers and ornaments on the parapet rise 40 above the crest.
